Ultimatum
It won’t lead to the result you actually want.
“Do your homework, or else you can’t go play”
“Get your act together, or you are fired”
I am sure you can think of a bunch. It never works because:
1) Person chooses the “or else” part. So you lose.
2) Person chooses the first part, no, not choose, but rather forced into picking the first part. You still lose, because they’d be resent you. Not only that but the motivation behind doing so is only to not face the consequence. So you still lose.
Is it just the coerced action you want? If so, ultimatum works. But I guess no, it’s more than just the actual doing. So then why go this route?
So whether you are on the giver of the ultimatum or the receiving end; think before act.

Angels and Demons
I like to watch movies I like repeatedly, over and over again. I’ve seen some movies for 20+ times.
I watched Angels and Demons again. Fascinating phrase Dr. Langdon said, when he was asked if he believed in God:
“I am in academic. My mind tells me that I would never understand God. My heart tells me that I am not meant to. Faith is a gift I’ve yet to receive”

So much on the line
How did life get so busy. From one task to the other. Striving to do more, to produce more, to achieve more, but all for what? When did enjoying life, eat, drink and rest, gone out the window? In its place was replaced by anxiety, worry and fear.
So much is on the line, people say. Or, is it really? What is on the line?
